Sun Coast Young Leaders Council

NPCA’s Sun Coast Regional Office (SCRO) established the SCRO Young Leaders Council (YLC) in support of NPCA’s strategic effort to engage young people with diverse backgrounds, community connections and experiences to develop their civic voices, speak up for our parks, and expand the role of young advocates and volunteers in our communities.

The Young Leaders Council is an extension of NPCA’s Sun Coast Regional Council and works with NPCA staff and allies to educate the community, business organizations and elected officials on the opportunities and challenges facing our national parks. Members of the YLC are empowered with training and mentorship to develop themselves as advocates, spokespersons and ambassadors for NPCA’s work and the Sun Coast’s park protection campaigns By combining their passions and talents, the YLC will also help engage new potential advocates within their own networks and communities to build stronger awareness of the 21 national park units in Florida, Louisiana, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Everyone can be an advocate for the natural and cultural park sites that we all love!
