“Win-Win” Partnership for Wounded Warriors Benefits Veterans and the Park Service


For a great read, I recommend this profile of Army 1st Sgt. Tim Thompson, a veteran of seven tours of duty in both Iraq and Afghanistan, who is interning at Florissant Fossil Beds through a “win-win” partnership with the Park Service. Thompson has already put his skills to work saving the federal government thousands of dollars by helping oversee the construction of a visitors center at the park; in exchange, the experience has helped him overcome his struggles adjusting to civilian life.  “Being a wounded warrior carries a lot of anxiety with it.
